Uninstalling Google Toolbar From Your System

You might have noticed a series of buttons on your browser window that didn’t really come with it. Such programs in the form of toolbars are add-ins, and have varied functions. While some toolbars simply represent specific search engines and redirect to them at the click of a button, others perform different functions. These programs are there to provide a convenient and user-friendly browsing experience to users.

Google toolbar is one such program that represents the Google search engine. This browser add-on would help you to search for content even from a blank page in your browser tab. You wouldn’t need to go to the Google website each time. But sometimes, you may find the Google toolbar to be irritating. This is because the toolbar may try to replace your browser’s default home page to Google.com. Also, you would find many search toolbars out there, so if you are not interested in keeping the Google toolbar, you can uninstall it from your Internet Explorer (IE) web browser and install another one.

If you do not know how to remove Google toolbar, you can try the following instructions provided by the Windows tech support:
  • In the first step, you need to click on the Windows Start button, followed by the Control Panel in your system. Now, double-click on the Add or Remove Programs option, and you would get a list of all the programs in your Windows XP system.
  • If you are using Windows Vista and 7 users, you need to click on the Programs option. Now, you need to click Programs and Features and open the installed programs list.
  • Here, you can scroll through the list of installed programs and select the Google Toolbar for IE option. Now, click on the Remove/Uninstall option, and once you get a pop up message, restart your web browser.
  • According to the Windows tech support, if you do not know how to remove Google toolbar, you can also remove it by clicking on the wrench icon available on the Google toolbar in your IE web browser. Now, go through pop-up menu and click on the Uninstall option.
  • Here, you need to click on the Uninstall the Google Toolbar option and once you get the prompt, you can restart your IE web browser.
By following these steps, you would be able to remember the Google toolbar from your browser. To know more about toolbars, please contact our technical support team.
