Tips For Changing The MSN Live Messenger Password

MSN Live Messenger is an instant online messaging application that is developed and released by Microsoft. By using this application, users will be able to chat with their friends and families very easily. All you need is a Windows Live account and an active internet connection. In case, if you need to change the password for your Windows Live account, follow the below given set of instructions provided by the Microsoft Chat team.

If you know the password

  • Switch on your computer and double click the shortcut of the browser in the desktop screen. This will open up a window where you need to type the web address for the Windows Live homepage. This will open up the home page of Windows Live Messenger.
  • In the Windows Live homepage, you will see the option to enter your current Windows Live ID and password. Type it correctly using the keyboard and hit the Enter button. This action will allow you to sign in to the Windows Live account.
  • Now you will see a tab named Account; click the option named Change that is seen in the right side of the Password section.
  • Next, in the field corresponding to the Old Password box, enter the Old Password of your Windows Live account and press the Enter button followed by typing the New Password in the field corresponding to New Password. Confirm it by entering it again.
  • Finally, make the changes by clicking the button named Save. This will change your Windows Live password.

If you have forgotten the password

  • Double click the browser shortcut icon seen in the desktop and navigate to the homepage for the Windows Live account. This will make available the Windows Live homepage.
  • Now, by using your mouse pointer, click the link labeled Forgot your password.
  • Type your Windows Live ID in the corresponding field. Under the picture box, you will see a box to enter the security code. Enter it, followed by clicking the Continue button.
  • Next, find the option named Email me a reset link and click it. Continue by hitting the Next button.
  • Minimize the open windows, navigate to the email associated with the Windows Live account, and check the email that will help to reset the password. Now a window will pop up in the screen where you need to type a new password in the corresponding box. Confirm it by again typing the new password followed by clicking the Next button.
