Microsoft Ready With Surface 2

Microsoft is all set to release the latest version of Surface tablets this year. According to the director of Microsoft Surface, Cyril Belikoff, the tablet named Surface 2 will soon hit stores across the world. The surface tablets will have LTE support, which will enable the users to receive text messages and use the cellular service to access internet connectivity. Keep in mind that the previous version of the Surface tablet allowed users to connect to internet only through Wi-Fi connection.

However, the date of release of the device is not yet announced. The price tag for the device is also not out. Reports suggest that resellers would be allowed to give away discounts on the products to improve the sales. The resellers can also develop business with device tagging, on-site support and custom imaging. Microsoft is releasing Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 aiming at the corporate users. For this, the company has improved the battery life of the device so that it can be used unplugged for a longer period. This means that professionals can attach the device to their office networks through LAN.

According to Microsoft help & support center, the Surface 2 tablet comes with a Haswell chip and an overall enhancement to the circuitry. Surface 2 is also designed with a low power solid-state disk to extend the battery life. The life expectancy of Surface Pro is about three years or 1,400 times complete drainage. This means that the device is an ideal replacement for the corporations that replace their laptops every three years. It also needs to be noted that the battery is irreplaceable due to the design structure of the device.

Another inclusion in the product is Power Cover. This keyboard used for the device has a separate battery. Since the keyboard has a separate battery for power, it does not play a part in draining the device’s battery life, and this in turn enhances the battery life of the product. You can also find a car charger for the product. This is ideal for the mobile workers using the device.

The device has an Ethernet port and a video port. The video port will help the users to attach the device to external screens. According to Belikoff, with all the features, the product will act as a desktop or a tablet. Now, we are only to hear the release date from Microsoft. Let us hope that Microsoft help & support center would soon announce the release date of this much-anticipated device.
