Steps To Change The Mail Delivery Locations In Outlook

Microsoft Outlook is an email application that is a part of the Microsoft Office package. The users can easily send and receive emails using this application. Sometimes, you may get emails from more than one email address, which have been sent to the same Outlook account; it is natural that you would want to direct these to separate folders as you receive them. By this way, you can effectively separate these messages. Hence, your inbox would not get messed up with emails.   • In the primary step, sign into your Outlook account. A main window would appear, which would show you all of your mail. Now, click on the word Tools in the main toolbar, and choose the Account Settings option from the dropdown menu.
  • After choosing the option, look at the Account Settings window that appears as a pop-up. The first tab on the left is the Email tab. Here, you would be able to see a list of all the email addresses linked to your Outlook account.
  • Now, you need to click on the first email address for which you would like to change the mail delivery location. At the bottom of the window, you would see the folder where the mail is currently delivered to for this account.
  • Now, click the Change Folder button. A new window would come up titled New E-mail Delivery Location. However, do not close the old window.
  • Read thoroughly through the list of folders available in the Choose a Folder list. If you do not see the folder you would like to use, click on the New Folder button. Here, type in a folder name, and click Okay. This name will now appear in the list. You can also seek out help with Outlook support to clear your queries.
  • Once you enter the name, highlight the name of the folder where you want your mail to go. Then click Okay. This would close the window and you would return to the Account Settings window.
  • Now, repeat the same steps to change the mail delivery locations for your additional email addresses, as needed. Close the window when you are finished by clicking on the option Close.
