  • Switch on your system and log into your admin account.
  • Open Internet Explorer on your device. Click on the Start icon. You will find the Start icon placed in to the bottom left corner of the start screen. From the Start menu pop up, select the label that reads All Programs. From the All Programs sub menu, select the label that reads Internet Explorer.
  • Wait for the window browser to load. From the quick access tool bar placed on top of the window, select the Tools option. From the drop down, select the label that reads Internet Options.
  • This will launch the Internet Options window. From the Internet Options Window, select the Security tab and highlight the Restricted Sites.
  • Move the mouse pointer and click on the address bar. Enter the web page that you want to visit. Delete the text in the address bar field. Enter the address of the page that you want to visit, e.g. http://rad.msn.com. Navigate to the webpage. The address http://rad.msn.com is responsible for sending advertisements to Windows Live Messenger. Set the access to stop the ads from appearing in the application.
  • Click on the Add option, and then the OK button, to save the preferences. Close the tabs.
  • Re-launch the Windows Live messenger application. The ads will now get replaced with the Windows Live Messenger banner.
